Datacol Group: by your side for 30 years
“We are people with growth in our DNA”. Nothing can better describe the essence of Datacol and the reasons for its success than these words of its founder and director, Renato Mascotto.
The Datacol Group is the leading Italian-owned supplier of fastening systems and consumables for professionals in the automotive and craft manufacturing sectors.
Ever since first opening its doors 30 years ago, its foremost aim has always been to meet its customers’ needs and exceed their expectations. Over the years, Datacol has overcome major challenges and embraced exciting opportunities. Every step it has taken has been guided by its commitment to quality, innovation and customer service.
To achieve these goals, the Datacol Group has promoted quality across every aspect of its business, from its products to its operating processes and customer service standards. The result is over 55,000 items for the automotive (trucks and light vehicles) and craft manufacturing sectors, made with innovative materials and state-of-the-art technologies, and kept constantly in line with the professional needs of end-users.
Turning Datacol from a local business into an established international group – which now holds a substantial share of the Italian market – was its founder’s ambitious, perhaps even over-ambitious, dream.
But often, when we keep a clear focus on our dreams and nurture them creatively and tenaciously, they end up coming true.
So how did Datacol get where it is today?
Datacol’s story started in 1993, when Renato Mascotto – a talented and far-sighted sales executive at the time – decided to set up a company specialising in the sale of specific products for automotive firms. The world of road transport was very different at the time, and over the years this prompted Datacol to extend its range of action through development, diversification and internationalisation.
Goals and milestones.
After opening its new headquarters in 1998, to accommodate an ever-growing number of employees and other personnel, by 2003, Datacol’s new ambition was to break into other European markets: so just 10 years after it was first incorporated, the company set up Datacol France, before going on to establish Datacol Spain five years later in 2008. This was followed by a string of new international ventures, which saw the formation of Datacol Austria in 2010, Datacol Croatia in 2012, Datacol Poland in 2014, Datacol Switzerland in 2018, Datacol Slovenia in 2019 and Datacol Portugal in 2022.
Alongside these new businesses, Datacol opened a new 15,000m2 logistics centre in 2012 to support the group’s international development.
None of these goals and victories could have been achieved, and none of these challenges could have been overcome, without the constant support of customers, staff and the entire community.
That is why, when the Datacol Group celebrated its 30th anniversary on 9 September this year, it did so with the people whose efforts made the company a field-leader.
The fabulous party held to mark the occasion, provided an ideal opportunity to reflect on the past, celebrate the present and look enthusiastically to the future. It was Datacol’s way of saying a big thank you to everyone who has been part of its success: the company was shaped by every project shared, every challenge overcome and every goal achieved.
The future is bright
As we celebrate our past, we are also looking enthusiastically at what the future may hold. The Datacol Group is committed to carrying on striving for excellence, embracing new challenges and seeking new opportunities, to remain at the forefront of innovation, and supply top-quality products and services that meet the evolving needs of its customers.
We have now seen who we are, how many of us there are, and how strong and united we are!
Our route is mapped out, that’s clear. We know our travelling companions and we share their ambitions.
We aim to go a long, long way together.
Now let’s channel this strength, this vigour and this drive into getting things done. Let’s work enthusiastically towards the goals we’ve set ourselves and let’s do whatever it takes to make sure that, for all of us, 2023 delivers the best performance that Datacol has ever seen.
The months to come will be crucial to achieving this, but they will also bring our goal ever closer.”
